Organisations who are interested in providing CSALS with a platform to raise the profile of the charity can do so by putting on a gin tasting event.

A recent event at Norton House Country Club did just that, as well as raising valuable funds for CSALS and helping the venue with their purchase of a defibrillator.

Attendees sampled six different gins from the Scavelli Gin range, with hosts Nick Johnson and Debra Johnson also putting on some fun games including a keypad quiz.

After handing over a cheque for £650 to the charity, Norton House Country Club committee member Andrew Phipps said:  “I’d like to say a massive thank you to CSALS for supporting our defibrillator fundraising event.

“Nick and Debra put on a fantastic gin tasting event and everybody had an enjoyable evening. The gins were fantastic, the entertainment was fantastic and Nick and Debra did a great job as hosts. The event was well attended and we are looking forward to the next ones!”

Debra, who is the community facilitator for CSALS, said: “Events like this help to promote our charity, which was formed to raise awareness of the need for more people with first aid skills.

“We would like to thank everyone at Norton House Country Club for supporting us in this way. We would welcome any opportunities to put on similar events in the future.”

The success of the event was subsequently featured in Active8 magazine, published by Heron Publications, providing valuable publicity for both CSALS and the venue.
