Today marks the sixth anniversary of the world record set by CSALS for the number of people receiving a first aid lesson at the same time.
Back in 2016, a total of 1,795 people took part in a first aid lesson on the pitch at the home of Chesterfield FC (then called the Proact Stadium).
With help from Chesterfield FC Community Trust, pupils from a number of local schools took part on the day.
The record was later beaten but the achievement provided CSALS with valuable media coverage and raised awareness of the organisation’s efforts to provide more people with first aid skills.
A free online course was later launched at Westminster in association with Virtual College.
Nearly 9,000 people have now completed the ‘Prepared to Save a Life’ course.
